Cable management

– Planning for success –

Through thick
and thin

– Routing as routine –

Cables are the veins of all electrical and electronical systems on a ship. We ensure easy cable planning, routing and installation.

Our claim: Efficiency through integrated know-how.

Our specialized inhouse software solutions show the status of any cable at any time.

OUR CABLE MANAGEMENT SERVICES:

  • Cable path optimisation (3D-Routing)
  • Cable length improvements
  • Combination of systems
  • Prevention of cable duplication
  • Capacity control (cable trays, cable connections

PMA-Cable planning

Prerequisite for good cable management is detailed cable planning for every system. We collate all information such as:

  • Cable types
  • Cable cross sections
  • Cable lengths
  • Cable numbers
  • Installation locations

and incorporate them into the cable plan.

We keep an eye on all cables

Here at PMA we use custom-made inhouse cable-management software. All cables are digitalized and uploaded into a database from which all system ports are managed. The cable planning serves as basis for the cable routing.

CABLE ROUTING

We develop an optimised cable path network for every system. The latest hardware and software comes into play, as well as our always up to date inhouse software solutions.

3D-Cable tray model

Additional information is generated through the cable planning from:

  • Coordination plans
  • Integration plans
  • Outfitter drawings
  • System specifications

and is combined in a virtual 3D-Cable tray model. On that basis, starting and ending points are defined and the cables are routed. To prevent capacity overload, all data is processed in real time.

ON SITE

On site, the technician is able to access our inhouse management software to retrieve the cable data. So they are able to generate cable lists according to their needs. The installer accesses the cable data on site using our innovative management software. This allows them to freely compile the cable pull lists for installation. Feedback on the cable status ensures that work in progress is continuously monitored. In this way, the timely completion of sections can be planned and adjustments can be implemented quickly.
