Homeport: Leer – Course: Future

A clear course towards the future: Since the founding of PMA in 2000, we have been on this journey.
A few of our milestones over the years are shown below.

09 / 2000

After more than 25 years in the shipbuilding business, Peter Meyer founded PETER MEYER Project Management • Adviser GmbH in Weener.

With the founding of the business:

First orders executed for the AIDAvita and the AIDAaura. PMA constructs lighting and control systems, PA-/GA-Systems, fire alarm systems, telephone systems, RF-Network, effect lighting, sound systems and multimedia technology.

2001

Cable planning for MY “Rising Sun” (construction time 2001 to 2005),
the biggest mega yacht at that time.

2005

Development of our own inhouse cable-management software in order to meet our demands of high-quality standards.

2007

Klaus Meyer, son of the founder, joins the company as Sales Manager. PMA expands their office and new professionals are recruited.

2008

Major electrical installation contract for six vessels for HDW Gaarden GmbH.

2010

Klaus Meyer is appointed Managing Director. Simultaneously, Enno Richerts and Heinrich Held Dipl. Eng. are appointed as Co-Purchasing Managers.

2010

Klaus Meyer is appointed Managing Director. Simultaneously, Enno Richerts and Heinrich Held Dipl. Eng. are appointed as Co-Purchasing Managers.

2011

16. April 2011:
After severe illness the founder, Peter Meyer, (portrait) passes away at the age of 63.

2012

Delivery of MY “Plan B” as part of the major contract from HDW Gaarden GmbH.

08/2012

Delivery of the scope of supply for the MY “Topaz”.

09/2012

“Control is at your fingertips” – this is the slogan for a ship-wide system control solution via tablet-PC & smartphone. In this context the “PMA System Control” application is released and is available in the App Store.

09/2013

Enno Richerts is appointed Technical Managing Director.

09/2013

2014

For individual support of various major contracts, a branch office is set up in Rendsburg. To ensure customer support, a number of PMA personnel are on site.

2015

The premises are about to reach their limit and consideration is given to expansion in 2013. The plans become concrete.

05/2016

The purchase contract for the land and building is signed. Our new homeport is going to be Nessestraße 1a in 26789 Leer.

09/2016

Extensive renovation work is done.

FULL STEAM AHEAD!

PMA begins operating in Leer.
